    Hi Guys

We are having an issue with a esxi (free) host having a PSOD when the guest OS windows 2008 server is running a backup using veritas backup exec 12.5

The backup appears to complete but then when it attempts to verify the PSOD happens.

Hardware is a ML370 G6 with latest bios and firmware applied.

    Type: BIOS - System ROM

    Version: 2009.10.01 (29 Oct 2009)

    Type: Firmware - Network

    Version: 2.1.5.5 (10 Nov 2009)

    Type: Firmware - Storage Controller

    Version: 1.16 (B) (11 Nov 2009)

The SCSI card is an Adaptec 29320LPE with latest firmware with a LTO3 tape drive attached

I have attached a photo of the PSOD unfortunatly the ILO stopped working at the time of the crash

    Regards,

    Scott

You should either set up a syslog server or move the location of the logfiles to a datastore so that you capture relevant information. ESXi logs are written to RAM and so are lost after a reboot. A PSOD is generally hardware related.
