Sorry to keep having you post logs, but I can not do anything with the vmware-client logs. I need the vmware-converter logs (like the one you previously attached).

    Hi,

Here are some common problem areas.

    1) Services running on source interrupts converter imaging - stop as many non essential ones e.g. antivirus etc.

    2) Mirror exists on source volume - break mirror.

    3) Source volume corrupt - run checkdisk

    4) Source volume badly fragged - run defrag

    5) Destination is over a UNC path - map a drive letter instead. Use local drive if possible.

    6) Diagnostic partition or other partition exceptions the process - delete the partition if possible

    7) Dynamic volume on source boot volume results in BSOD on VM boot - run OS same version upgrade by selecting install first then repair on the previous windows detection.

    8) Running old version of converter

My disk configuration isn't software mirrors (dynamic disks), I did to configure IBM Raid Controller 8k ,RAID 5 , 3 Physical disk ,2 Volume( c:\ 40 GB d:\200 GB ).

    I did to :

    1) stop antivirus

    2) Run checkdisk /r

    4) Run defrag

    5) Check UNC path - map a drive letter

    6) Diagnostic partition

    7) Run Msconfig Hide all Microsoft services /Click the Startup tab / Click Disable all.

Did chkdsk return any discovered errors?

Do you get the same error if you do NOT resize?

Do you get the same error if you use a coldclone selecting ALL partitions (including the diagnostic partition) and NOT resizing?

    Hi,

    I'd like answer you questions?

Did chkdsk return any discovered errors?

No, I didn't found any error after chkdsk.

Do you get the same error if you do NOT resize?

Yes, I do. I found the same error both selection.

Do you get the same error if you use a coldclone selecting ALL partitions (including the diagnostic partition) and NOT resizing?

No, Because I'm not yet to do that. So, Could you please guide me how to create Cold boot CD. I can not found guide in VMware Convertor User's Manual .

VMware Converter Enterprise is available at no additional cost to existing and new VirtualCenter Management Server customers and P2V Assistant customers, with valid support and subscription contracts. First go to http://www.vmware.com/download/licensing.html and click on the Manage VMware Product Licenses link.

If you are entitled to Converter licenses you will see Vmware Converter 3.0 Enterprise listed once you log in. Once you activate the license and download the license file you can go to http://www.vmware.com/download/converter/ and click on the Enterprise Edition link to download the ISO file for cold-cloning.

The installation program for hot-cloning is the same for Starter and Enterprise editions. Once you select a license file in Converter it will unlock the Enterprise features. One thing to note is that the license file you download for Converter does not work with the License Manager server. Even though it is in the same format as the ESX licenses the License Server will not recognize it. To use your Converter license file simply copy it to the server that Converter is installed on and launch the Converter application and select Administration, Licensing Information and click Add License and browser and select your Converter license file.

Good to know thanks. Must be resolved in the current version or there abouts.

I think we should give a go at a cold clone of just the boot drive.
