  • 1.  Play a sound when an alert is fired

    Hi all:

    Recently I have seen this plugin http://support.hyperic.com/display/hypcomm/HQU+Wall+Mount with "Alarm program for HQU Wall Mount"

    Does anyone know any way to play a sound whenever an alert is triggered (without using HQU Wall)?

    Are you wanting a sound to play on the HQ server or on your local desktop?

    Hi,

    Some possible solutions:

    The recent alerts portlet has a RSS feed. If you can find a RSS reader that will play a sound when a new item appears in the feed that would work.

    You could also have the alerts delivered to a specific mailbox and have a mail reader play a sound when a new message arrives.
