    Hello ESXI experts,

    As a home project, I have installed ESXI 6.5 on a Dell optiplex 7010, Success.

    I have not chosen any VLAN as it is a home router.

    The management IP came as 0.0.0.0 and after a reboot changed to  169.x.x.x.x. I have manually entered a 192.168.0.x IP subnet and default gateway but from another windows pc from the same network ( obviously), I am unable to ping the ESXi management ip. Could anyone help me on this please.

    Was trying an eth cable from a dead end rather than from the switch. Point to remember, before installing ESXI, tidy up your LAN cables !!
