I need to convert (physical to virtual) and old Windows 98 box.

I made some tests with VMware Converter with no success.

Should I use an old version (as I made to P2V a Windows 2000 box some times ago, using VMware Converter 3.x)?

If so, where can I locate a very old version of VMware Converter?

Is there any other way to convert my Windows 98 box?

    Regards

Eventually you could make a backup image which then to import using Converter. See the user guide for supported image formats.

No version of Converter ever had support for Win98.

With Win98 you would create a diskimage with dd for example - assign that diskimage as the flat.vmdk for a manually created VM.
Then you simple cross your fingers and start it - most of the times that works
