no host listed in ADD Host for vcenter 6 host migration

I've got vCenter 6 installed on Windows 2008R2 Enterprise.  I've created a distributed switch and now want to migrate my hosts to that switch but when I click ADD HOST I don't see any of my hosts.  What am i doing wrong?  The original hosts were standalone when I had NO vCenter and was administering them individually.  They were working fine. It's not a complicated configuration.  I have two ESXi 6 hosts with single dvswitch and one VM on each (this is a lab).

I believe I've discovered the issue.  I have Essentials Plus and that does not have distributed switches.  As such, I can't add hosts altho the app allows me to create a distributed switch.
