  • 1.  no heartbeat PSoD

I am getting PSoD's when no VM's are running. All KB's that mention 'no heartbeat' messages say turn off vmkernel.boot.usePCC but that was turned off by default and I don't see it listed in the Advanced Settings after I updated ESXi.

Also, no power management settings are enabled in ESXi or in the BIOS.

Any assistance in deciphering the screenshot of a recent PSoD is greatly appreciated.

    Running:

    VMware ESXi 5.1.0

    Server specs:

    2 x  Intel PWLA8391GT 10/ 100/ 1000Mbps PCI Desktop Adapter PRO/1000 GT

    1 x ASRock P67 EXTREME4 GEN3 LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

    1 x HIS H677FN1GD Radeon HD 6770

    1 x G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) F3-10666CL9D-8GBXL

    1 x Intel Core i5-2400 Sandy Bridge 3.1GHz

Upon closer inspection, it looks like this PSoD is related to e1000 (NIC). The motherboard has an onboard Realtek NIC which I disabled through the BIOS. If anything new happens I'll update this post.

Still crashing... It looks like it is the e1000 adapter for the Intel NIC. Any ideas on how to fix this?

    Hello,

any clue about this issue ? we had the same PSOD screen on 2 full IBM Bladecenters with VMs running on it.

    Regards,
