Please excuse this basic question but if I have two network cards in my Esxi server, I want to use one for management traffic only, and the second for vm traffic only, correct? In the attached image, I will add all my virtual machines to VM Network 2, is that correct? I am not doing vmotion or anything else at the moment, this is a very simple basic setup.

The setup you have there does exactly what you think it does. You could even remove the "VM Network" port group from vSwitch0 if you wanted to.

Yes that will work, if you don't plan to ever put VM traffic on the first VM Network you can open the vSwitch properties and remove the VM Nework port group. That way VM's will only have a single option of which vSwitch to use.

    Yes - it will work.

Next you may consider renaming the VM Network 2 to another Name that reflects what type(s) of network traffic go over that network segment - for example vlan 100 or Production whatever will assist you in managing your environment best.   Removing VM Network on vSwitch0 is advised under the idea of "don't need it, remove it".
