  • 1.  Multiple conversions to start one after the other?

    Posted Jun 20, 2008 09:54 AM

    Hi,

I'm running converter enterprise and need to schedule 3 conversions to run after each other. I know I can schedule the start time of the 1st one and limit it so that it will only ever do one at a time but how do I schedule the other 2? Do I give them the same start time or give them a later time.

If I start the first one at 18:00 and then schedule the 2nd for 23:00 but the 1st doesn't finish till 23:30, will the 2nd one start then or fail?

    Cheers

    Tim

OK - I've just tried setting a task in Converter standalone and it would apeear you CANNOT set it to start at a particular time!! You can though do this though the VI plugin - is this right or have I totally missed something? If this is the case, that is stupid :smileyangry:

Did you install the ENTERPRISE license on your standalone converter installation? If you didn't, it will be unlicensed and will do not concurrent conversion and/or scheduling. So I suggest you try again after installing the license. The converter plug-in within VC is basically an Enterprise version and that's why you could use Enterprise features.

Hope this helps. By the way, it's not stupid.

Hi, thanks for th eresponse. Yes it is licensed to Enterprise. I set it to do only 1 at a time and this allows it start one after the other finishes but it doesn't have "option 4" in the task list for scheduling it to start at a certian, you have to start it manually. Not a problem just means I had to stay late at work on Friday.

And yeah I know its not stupid, I was just in a bad mood when I wrote that :smileyhappy:
