  • 1.  moving vmk0 to dvswitches

    Hi,

in the past years it was an inofficial good/best practice to place the vmk0 in an standard virtual switch to avoid scenarios like here : https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1008127

This article lists all esxi versions up to 6.5 as related products. Is there a change in version 7 ?

Is it actual recommended to  move the vmk0 service console to dvswitches?

    Thanks in advance & Regards

There is no mention of a best practice on this on this particular link, but I moved my management to dvs and have never had an issue with doing so.

    Hi Alan,

i am with you. As long as there occur no problems like mentioned in the kb it works perfectly. But i am sure that there were recommendations in the past to place vmk0 on a standard switch. It is possible that because of the improvements of the vDS in the last years my doubts are not relevant anymore. That is my question.
