  • 1.  Monitoring Memory at the Cluster Level

    Hi All

Just wondering if anyone could advise - I have searched around on the forums here and a lot of other communities but have not been able to find an answer so far. We currently have VMWare vCenter alarms set up for our hosts to alert when the hosts reach a certain level of memory consumption. However this is not really relevant in our environment, and what I would really like to do is set up monitoring at the cluster level, so that we get alerted when cluster memory usage hits around 80-90%.

Can anyone advise if this is possible? I can't see anything obvious in VMWare. If it is not possible within VMWare, is there any other product that will allow us to do this? Currently we use Nagios as well so if anyone has a way to do it via Nagios, please let me know!

    Thanks in advance

    Celina

    I guess, it's not possible.

But you can configure alarm for cluster overcommitment.

Hmm.. no, it doesn't look like it...

Do you know if it's possible to monitor memory ballooning or DRS ratio instead on the clusters?
