  • 1.  missing datastore recovery?

    Hi,

I turned my ESXi box back on... 2 datastores are gone. There are 3 hard drives in the system. I had created the datastores to take up drives 2 and 3 - now the datastores are missing. I swear that I did a proper shutdown, so I'm not sure what caused this. Is there anything to be done? Is there a way to restore the partitions / datastores?

    Thanks,

    Ed

    Have you tried to rescan?

    Cheers

    Hi Ed,

    As Kevin suggested above,

Use VC client to connect to ESXi host

    - Do a "rescan" on storage adapters

    - Do "refresh" on storage

    - Restart again and see if BIOS tells you anything about "missing" drives. You might have a HW issue.

Any clue from the lights on the server?
