    Hi,

the option "Maximum concurrent tasks" in vCenter Converter Standalone is unavailable (greyed out).

The OS is Windows 7 64-bit.

There is no difference in running the application as user or with administrative rights, the option is always unavailable.

How can I change the number of maximum concurrent tasks to 1?

I did not find either any relevant configuration file or registry key.

    Thanks and regards

I'm not 100% sure, but I think this option is only available if you have active tasks running.

    Unfortunately not.

I had two tasks running simultaneously and it was slow as hell.

So I wanted to queue further tasks, but this option is also unavailable with running tasks.

I just installed VMware Converter Standalone 5.0 on a Windows XP box with all the features (Client/Server) and I'm able to configure the maximum concurrent tasks from the menu.

Great, but there are two differences:

    - Windows 7 64-bit vs. Windows XP

    - Local installation (1st option) vs. Client/Server (2nd option)

I found an old XP client and installed the Converter there using the first option.

Result: I' able to edit the number of maximum concurrent tasks from the first run of the program without any running task.

    Conclusion:

The problem must be related with Windows 7 (64-bit).

But since running the program with administrative permissions does not help, what else is it?

Did you connect as administrator when logging?

I guess you started the Converter on a Domain Controlled Machine. Then you have to start the converter not only as local admin of the machine. Use "Run as Different User" and provide Domain Admin credentials of your AD.

Then I believe you will get active Administration settings, instead of greyed out ones.

    best regards,

Likely you have client/server installation and after launching the client you choose "Connect to a local server". In this case the options are grayed out. You should select "Connect to remote host" and type in localhost and your creds. That works.
