  • 1.  Map an iSCSI volume with two ESXi host

    I have two ESXi 5.1 host and a Dell iSCSI storage. Have created one volume and it is currently mapped to one of the ESXi host. I am planning to map the same volume to another ESXi host.

    I want to know if there will be any disconnectivity of iSCSI traffic in the first ESXi server while i map the volume with second ESXi server.

    No, discovering iSCSI LUNs and the subsequent mounting of the VMFS volume won't impact connectivity of other hosts at all. This can be done during production hours without problems.

    VMFS is a real cluster filesystem and built for such purposes.
