  • 1.  Maintainance Mode with DRS enabled

    I wanted to put a host in maintainance mode. My Cluster has DRS enabled. If I put the host in maintainance mode will the vm's on the host be successfully migrated with no impact or will it be powered off?

    vm's on the host be successfully migrated to  other host.

    If the host is part of a partially automated or manual DRS cluster, a list of migration recommendations for virtual machines running on the host appears.

    Will there be any downtime associated or any performance affect on the vm?

    It is said that if drs and ha are enabled it might sometimes cause the vm to not migrate because of the reserved capacity of vm's to restart. I have not selected anything in ha. I have only selected host failure the cluster tolerates as 1. Will the vm's still migrate if I put one host in maintainance mode?
