Lost VCS Import ESX 5 to new VCS Issue.

Hello Team

I have lost my VCS and DB and created a new VCS . I am going to add my hosts in New VCS  and getting warrning to migrate hosts to new VCS. I am not sure if i am going to lose the connectivity ?

Another engineer told me that by doing this we will loss connectivity to ESX host as the host is still assosiated to old VCS / VDS .

i can see the host still have VDS assosiated.

I have included VCS + ESX Host networking details.

Yes thats correct.. VDS is managed by VCS.

As your migrating to New VCS.

First migrate the VMs that in VDS network to VSS network.

then remove hte VDS from the host.

Now add the host to new VCS

create VDS there

migrate the VM from VSS to VDS.

This way you wont have any issue..

Strange !

I did that moved the VM to VSS > Removed the VDS > and now i can access the VM's inside however i am not able to ping the ESX Host and not able to access the ESX Host .

Add the management port group to VSS. as per the screen shot i dont see a mangement port which will come like vmk..

Take a direct console access to esxi

Click F2, go to configure management network, Click on network adapter and mark vmnic1, as per you screen shot vmnic1 is on vss.

save setting.

Now try you should be able to ping the ESXi and connect to it..
