  • 1.  List all possible alarm triggers with powershell?

    Posted Apr 02, 2012 11:16 AM

    Hi,

I was just trying to get a list of alle possible alarm triggers the virtual center (vSphere 5) offers for configuration of alarms.

Could someone help me out with some powershell statement to get these alarms?

get-alarmdefinitions just list the alarms already configured, but I am trying to get a list of all possible alarms I could configure.

When I create a new alarm, I can choose from a list of objects (Alarm Type):

depending on the alarm type, I can choose from different triggers:

So what I would like to get is a list of all Alarm Types with the trigger types I could choose from.

Something in a list like this was on my mind:

    Instance

         VM

              trigger: uptime

              trigger: cpu load

              trigger: mem load

         Host

              trigger:availability

              trigger:hardware failure

         Cluster

              trigger:cluster state

Thanks in advance for your help.

Have your got the solution finally?

I am now also trying to export all alarm triggers, but seems can be quite difficult.
