I got a cisco E160d blade that has 2 ports to a cisco switch.

I want to do 2 nics dvswitch and put my mgmt, vmotion and vms on it

Can I do a etherchannel on all 3 port groups using route based on IP hash?

LBT is better option if you have enterprise plus license, else active/standby for the different traffic?

does lbt require configuring the network ports?

Just basic configuration to allow the correct vlans, LBT works as "Route based on originating Port ID" and has awareness of the link utilization and ensures that no uplink is utilized more than 75 percent.

I have 8 1GB links, do you still recommend to use lbt instead of lacp?

wouldnt lbt works better on 10GB links?

and lbt will only utilize 1 link vs lacp will use multiple?

I believe that it all depends on what kind of communication you have on your vms.

Since the mgmt. and the vmotion communication is mostly static between specific hosts and as such the IP hash is pointless the weight is on the type of communication you have on your VM.

If you run a web server with multiple random connection on it from random clients then IP hash is better.

If you have a limited number of connections towards your vms then I would suggest lbt.
