    Thanks BharatR though the motherboard isnt listed, hence the post. Have also checked out vm-help.com without success

    Has anyone used this board (Intel BLKDZ68DB) with ESXi ?

    You won't find the MB on the official HCL.  I'd suggest checking out the forums at vm-help.com or ultimatewhitebox.com.

    Often the two limiting factors are the storage controller and NIC.  With the Intel RST controller you won't get RAID functionality with ESXi ,but it should be able to see individual disks.  You should be OK with the NIC but if you experience issues you can always added an Intel Pro 1000 based card fairly cheaply.
