Installing update manager : Error 1606 $PATCH_STORE

Hello everyone :smileyhappy:,

I am trying to install the new vcenter update manager, everything goes

smoothly except for when i'm asked to choose a location for the

updates. It says $PATCH_STORE and when i click on "change" i get an

error saying it can't find the location and won't let me change it to

something else. I have tried to add the variable to windows with a

value of E:\PATCH but when the installation starts i get the error

"Error 1606. Could not access network location $PATCH_STORE"

Has anyone experienced this issue or do you know how i could fix it ?

Hi Neyz,

I think that probably you had previous VUM installation on this machine and the new VUM installation is getting the information from the existing XML file...

If I'm right and this is the case - just try to clean up c:\Program Files\VMware\Infrastructure\Update Manager folder and try to install VUM again

Thank you petkom, this worked (i also cleaned the registry just to be sure)
