  • 1.  Install of vmxnet on a NT4 VM

    Posted Jun 20, 2007 09:04 AM

    Hi,

I'm using Vmconverter in starter mode.

    I want to virtualize an NT4 server (and W2000 & W2003)

In the Step 3 : Customization, the Install Vmware Tools and "Customize the indentity..." cannot be selected and are in grey.

I read in the forum that theses options are available only with a ESX target. So with a Vmconverter license.

I can install vmware tools after the conversion. But how to install the vmware drivers for network? I have no network connectivity yet.

    Thanks

Go to your network devices and specify the location of the network driver file. Prior to doing this, kick off the Install VMware Tools to mount the virtual CD. Then browse the CD to find the driver file, which is in something like the Program Files\VMware\VMware Tools\drivers\network\Windows NT directory.
