Hi all,
I'm testing the HQ E eval. I just saw that generating an alert is slow in HQ.
E.g
I have defined availability alert on NTP server on one of my linux box. When I stop the NTP, the detection time and the alert generating is sometimes after the incident occur.
How can I fine tune this.
It seems like the HQ detect and generate the alert in 5 min times gap. How can I reduce it.
Does the HQ has a capacity to detect service unavailability sooner it occur..?
Please I really appreciate the help.
Thanks a lot in advance

Hi,
it depends on the collection interval you have configured (which is 10 min for the NTP availability). You may start and reduce the interval to 5 or 2 min and check if it makes any difference. Another parameter is your alert definition. How is you current alert alert setup ?
Cheers,
Mirko

OK
I found it and testing.
My purpose is I need HQ to report / alert the moment a service or an application' status matches the alert condition.
But seems it alert after some delay of the incident.
Still trying...
Thanks & Regards

Set the collection interval to a lower setting by either of the following.
1- For Individual resource
Navigate to resources Monitor page
Select the 'Metric Data' mini tab
Select checkbox of metric and set its interval at bottom of the page
2- Globally for all Resources of that type
Navigate to Administration -Monitoring Defaults
Select resource in questions
Select checkbox of metric and set its interval at bottom of the page
The lowest value is 1 minute.
