  • 1.  i cant able to take back up on net vault back up software

    hi friends,

    i have one small doubt ,

    i cant able to take back up from netvault back up s\w ..

    Error is :Failed to determine disk areas to backup for VM disk.

                Failed to backup VM 'INDIAN-GOLDFISH' uuid '42108e39-473e-41f5-1142-1b31d386a1d3'

    Failed to backup selected VM(s)  Netvault logs sub context:

    VMWUTIL :03172    6       0  63536 LoginToServer success=TRUE
    VMWVIM  :03172  686       0  63536 Failed to get changed disk areas: 12

    SO PLEASE GIVE THE SOLUTION FOR THIS QUERIES............

    Chages has to be done the configuration file as menioned here

    -Shutdown the VM
    -Right Click on the VM and select remove from Inventory
    - Login to your ESXi host through Putty
    - Change you working directory to the VM folder
    cd /vmfs/volume/datastorename/VMfolder/
    - Use VI Editor and open the file Vmname.vmx
    - Perform the changes as mentioned in the article
    - Add the VM back to Inventory
    - Power ON the VM
    -Try running the backup

    If you are not familiar with VI editor download the VMX file locally make the changes and upload back to the datastore.

    ps: Preserve the VMX file before making any change

    Hi,

    I am from Delhi, do one thing create a test machine, install OS in it, if you have templates deploying VM would be faster. Now once the VM is Deployed.
