    Posted Oct 29, 2013 07:56 AM

    Hi all

Due to some issue. I reinstalled the vCenter

My vcenter installed on windows 2008 R2

But my VDP backup have to be managed by the new one

Does anyone know how to switch the VDP to new vcenter without losing the original bakcup data and functionally managed by new vcenter?

    Many Thanks.

    Jimmy Chien

I tried to login to the VDP , reconfigure the password (the only change is the password)

and get the following warning.(Please see attachment)

For VDP to be managed by a different vCenter,

1- Make sure the VDP is within the vCenter (the new vCenter). You may have to look for the available options to move VDP from old to new vCenter

2-Then login into VDP configure and start re-configuring VDP to the new vCenter. (Admin guide should have steps to do the same)

    Hi Snekkalapudi

Acctually. I didn't delete the old vcenter, I changed it to a vswitch that are not connect to anywhere. and install a new one on the same subnet. use the same IP/Name,but different password.so the vdp  is within the new vcenter,

1.Should I use the https://vcenter_ip/mob to unregister the old one?

2.I know the method to re-configure vdp.but I think the it stock by something like register on vcenter?

    OK. Got it.

Try your luck rebooting the VDP appliance before attempting any further steps like unregistering from the mob.
