  • 1.  how to shutdown vcenter appliance normally

    i have vcsa 6.5 and i have to power off all esxi hosts and storage for maintenance in server room many times every time powering off vcsa didn't work again and i have to reinstall it from beginning

    i thing that i powering off vcsa in wrong way . though may i now who can i turn off vcsa normally ?

    Connect directly to the ESXi host, using the vSphere Client, which is hosting the VCSA, and then select Shutdown Guest.

    also remember which host is hosting the VCSA appliance, to connect to this server, when you power up, and issue a Power ON, to start the VCSA appliance.

    You have two options:

    1 - Connect directly to the ESXi host, using the vSphere Client, which is hosting the VCSA, and then select Shutdown Guest.

    2 - Log in to the vCenter Server Appliance Management Interface as root.

    Procedure

    1. In the vCenter Server Appliance Management Interface, click Summary.
    2. Click Reboot or Shutdown to restart or power off the virtual machine.
    3. In the confirmation dialog box, click Yes to confirm the operation.

    Reboot or Shut Down the vCenter Server Appliance
