  • 1.  how to import / convert old GSX vmdk machine

    We are running ESX 4.1 now, we have a very old vmdk file that used to belong to a GSX environmet.

    How can I import this machine into our new environment?

    we do not have vcenter running, so we can't use the import function.

    You can use the free stand alone version of Converter - http://downloads.vmware.com/d/info/datacenter_downloads/vmware_vcenter_converter_standalone/4_0

    GSX 3 vmdks should work with Converter
    GSX 2.5 vmdks may need some more work - but its possible
