how to identify unallocated disks in guest os ?

Hi,

I've been asked to recover space in our vmware 5.5 architecture. I've manually identified unallocated raw disks in guest OSes (Linux and windows). I'm looking in an automated way to identify these now, and possibly run t a report on a monthly basis as well...

These are NOT orphaned disk, they are not empty disks neither (for the OS point of view), they are presented, but not used, not formatted, not mounted...

Try RVTools software to fetch data from your ESXi/vCenter and check the Partitions Tab. Let me know if it did not work out.

The 'partition' tab wont show it as it is not mounted, and the 'Disk' tab will show it but there is no way to tell it is not mounted :smileysad:

Anyone has a solution for finding unallocated disks in windows ?
