    I have a CISCO UCS blade chassis with 4 blades (all B200 M4) and I need to display the VMware installed/running on each from the vSPhere Web Client 5.5.

    To determine the build number of vCenter Server using the vSphere Web Client:

    1. Log in to the vSphere Web Client.
    2. Click Home.
    3. Click Hosts and Clusters.
    4. Expand the datacenter.
    5. Expand the cluster.
    6. Click the ESXi host.
    7. Click the Summary tab
    8. Under Configuration there will be a ESX/ESXi Version field:

    Especially when coming into a new shop...

    I'm always interested in knowing what the full build and source of a host is which is why I like Running  "esxcli software profile get" from a telnet session.

    It will also give me source media and maintenance history, you never know what your predecessor may have cooked up....
