  • 1.  How to connect ESXI within Workstation to physical switch?

    Posted Apr 11, 2015 02:11 PM

    Hi

My current setup is I have my vCenter Server Appliance and my 2 ESXI hosts running inside VMware Workstation 10.

The 2 ESXI both have VMs within them and the hosts are currently connected to a Distributed Switch in the datacenter.

How can I connect the ESXI hosts to a physical switch?

The reason I need to do this is because it`s for a uni project and I am comparing the performance of a Distributed Switch vs Physical Switch.

On my laptop I have 2 Ethernet links that connect to the physical switch, 1 is for each host, but when I change the network settings in Workstation because it`s currently set as internal network I lose connectivity and can no longer see them in vCenter.

I want to still be able to use performance graphs within vCenter when I am testing the physical switch.

    If anyone could help

    Thanks

I think, you have to bridge your virtual NIC on your physical NIC.

    Maybe resolved your issue.

How can I get each of my ESXI to be assigned to my 2 physical adaptors?
