    hi,

thanks for your reply. i want to know which logs should i check if any problem occur. i mean how to check the logs while troubleshooting the issue.

like some issue we need to check var/log/messages and for VM and ESX we have to look for hostd file.

Usually is not so simple: one issue -> one line in one log file.

There are a lot of log files (remember also vCenter Server log files).

Here you can fine a file mapping:

There are couple of logs that you can check on ESX, some of them being:

    1) /var/log/vmkernel

    2) /var/log/vmkwarning

    3) /var/log/vmware/hostd.log

Also look at the syslog configuration (/etc/syslog.conf) to get an idea.

PS: Please award points if any of the above information is useful.<!Session data>
