  • 1.  how to check fill state per vmdk

    Hi,

is it possible with vCenter 4.0 U1 to set an alarm which measures the fill state per vdmk?

I want to know how full my partitions are inside the vmdk.

Is this possible with onboard tools, or do I have to buy something else?

    Thanks,

    Alex

excuse my ignorance but what do you mean by "fill state"?

...nonetheless, maybe something like RVTools is what your looking for?

    Hi,

I want to know i my filesystem within the vdmk is near full. I know the alarm which checks the datastores when they fill up.

    But what about vmdks ?

I will have lokk at rvtools, too!

I don't understand still. a .vmdk is just a file. If you want to monitor free space, monitor your datastores as you said.

If you are talking about free space within the guest OS, you will probably have to go with 3rd party utilities.
