  • 1.  How to backup only one VM virtual disk

    Posted May 05, 2008 11:14 PM

    Hi all.

    I have 3 ESX (3.5 Up1), 1 VC (2.5 Up1) and 1 VCB (1.1). I use a CX3-40 to store virtual machine disks.

Ok,most of my virtual machines have two virtual disks (C: and D:). Today I do a fullVM backup. Can I do a fullVM backup but backup only one virtual disk (D:)?

    Regards,

    Eduardo.

    Hi all.

Last night I do a few tests. Its possible to do a backup of one disk.

For example, I have two virtual disks, diskC.vmdk and diskD.vmdk. To do a backup only diskC.vmdk, I checked diskD.vmdk has a Independent (persistent). So, when I execute my backup script on proxy backup, only C do a snapsho, so, only C is copied to VCB.

    Cherrs,

    Eduardo.
