I'd like to incorporate the patches of build 515841 onto a CD (actually, a USB Stick) currently installing ESXi5 at build 469512.

    Is this possible?

What is the purpose of the "UPGRADE" directory on the CD. Could it be used to update an installation? Its contents resemble a maintenance zip.

You can use to create an ESXi installation image with a customized set of ESXi updates and patches using ESXi Image Builder CLI.

    Refer the below link

    Well, that was brain-dead easy!

    Thanks again.

    Two whole commands:

    add-esxsoftwaredepot -depoturl path.to.515841.patch.zip
    export-esximageprofile ImageProfile ESXi-5.0.0-20111204001-standard -FilePath path.to.515841.iso -exporttoiso
