I keep getting this error message when starting a VM in WS 17.6.4.  My host OS is running the latest Intel video drivers that exist.  Has anyone else had this happen and are there any solutions?  Thank you.

Pnut12 Requesting you to upgrade to WS 25H2 and let us know in case the problem still persists, if yes, please share support bundle of the affected VM here.

I installed 25H2 first, and saw this message, and then uninstalled and went
to 17.6.4 and the same message exists in both products. I'm running
Windows 11 25H2, with all of the latest drivers installed.

We had issues with Intel's graphics driver version 101.2115 and older so something newer is required.  My Intel Lunar Lake (Arc 140V) laptop currently has driver 101.6881.  Can you provide the exact driver version you have installed?  You can find it in the "Intel Graphics Software" application under the Home / System / Settings tab.

    Thanks.

Hope this helps. This is the latest driver for this particular video
hardware. It is an older computer obviously. Not sure what can be done,
but when I run VM's under Player v17.6.3, I do not have an issue.

Sorry, I don't see an image, just some link text.  What is the version number you see?  You can also check the mksSandbox.log file to see what Vulkan driver version is being found.  Posting that file would be helpful.

My apologies. Usually copy and paste works but evidently not this time.
Please see the mksSandbox.log file attached. Thank you.

According to the log file, Vulkan is not installed on your system ("Failed to open vulkan-1.dll library: The specified module could not be found").

Then Workstation tries using DX12, but that fails because your GPU (Intel HD Graphics 4600) is too old (circa 2013).  Then Workstation falls back to using DX11, which seems to work.

You can add the following to your .vmx file to avoid the Vulkan warning: mks.enableVulkanRenderer=FALSE

I don't think Intel supports Vulkan on that old of GPU.

Thank you very much for looking through that file and your recommendation.  I added that line to my .vmx file so we'll see how it goes from here.
