I created a distribution switch and moved all my VMs over to it.  I only have one available NIC on the ESXi server so I assigned the uplink to the switch. I want to move the uplink back to the original standard switch but can't seem to figure out how.  Any suggestions?

    Hi,

You need to migrate your virtual and physical adapter to standard switch, you can find the instruction on the below link:

Under edit setting of the distributed switch you will find option to migrate the networking to standard switch.

make sure you have the standard switch with proper vLAN IDs already created.

Also make sure you migrate the virtual networking and the physical nics together.

Thanks for the help, very new to this but I'm not quite sure how I missed that button.  When I try to migrate it gives me an error "There are no physical network adapters connected to the destination switch.  Migrating this VMkernel network adapter to it will cause the hose to lose connectivity."  I only have the one NIC.  Am I right in assuming I can't migrate to the standard switch until I install another NIC?

No, you should still be able to migrate with just one nic,

during migration to the standard switch you are selecting the uplink as well along with vmkernel ports.

if this does not work you have an option to just do the whole thing from command line. provided you have a console access to server.

Is it only the management vmkernel you are migrating or you also have powered on VMs using the VM network.
