I am looking for at tool to make health and capacity check of a vSphere environment. Both a brief report for management and a more thorough.
No monitoring features are needed.
It is a one-timer so preferably free or trial software, and there must be preconfigured reports as there is no time allocated for customizing scripts.
Thanks.
Maybe this script would suite your needs:

Thanks Joel.
I ended up using VMware HealthAnalyzer for the health part.
Still haven't decided what to use for capacity check.
If its for one time as you mentioned, use a free trial of vCenter Operations.
Its super easy to deploy from the OVF, and it will do what you need, and more!
Maybe after your boss sees how good the product is, he'll want to buy it :smileyhappy:
Reports like oversized and undersized VMs are very handy too so be sure to check them out at right sizing is awesome bang for buck,
Thanks Josh.
This is for a customer, so delivering a printed report is essential.
I have vcops installed in my lab but never took a closer look at it. Might be time for that.
For your printed reports, vC OPS will make you look like a superstar :smileyhappy:
