  • 1.  Having trouble with SNMP configuration on my hosts

    Posted Feb 06, 2012 06:31 PM

I am running 1 x vSphere 4 host and 2 x vSphere 5 hosts and have followed this article:

    http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1008065

I cannot get my hosts to respond to SNMP Polling on my Solarwinds Orion, I do not understand why?

    Anyone have any suggestions?

I have done that, and I can get my syslog server to receive traps from the host, but when trying to add the host to my Solarwinds Orion, it says test failed with the SNMP credentials. What is the difference between port 161 and 162?
