    Hi,

I am trying to generate a Root Certificate using the VMware Certificate Manager. I got to the point where it asked me the password for the user administrator@vspshere.local. Somehow it says invalid password. I am pretty sure i provided the correct password as I can login to the VAMI and the vCenter web client using the same password. The password I used also conforms the password requirements.

Any idea what is causing the invalid password error when using the VMware Certificate Manager?

You've asked that before at https://community.broadcom.com/vmware-cloud-foundation/question/generate-root-certificates
Please see whether my reply over there helps.

Why ask this twice and not respond to the original post? Please reply to the original post.  Your password probably contains an invalid character.

Somehow the first post doesn't show an option for me to reply. So i posted again using the discussion forum which now I'm able to reply.

Anyway my password conforms the requirements as per in this link

That's strange. There should be a huge "Answer" button under the question (the first post, basically yours).

Anyway, about your issues… generally I take those "invalid password" messages for granted. Just to be sure you're typing the correct password when using the certificate manager, try entering your password in the username field first (to double-check what you're typing). If you still struggle with the "invalid password" error, change it to a simpler one temporarily, and then change it back if you want.
