Thanks so much for the very quality details and steps to get this addressed. I called https://support.broadcom.com/group/ecx/software-contact-support > 800-225-5224 x2,2,2 [ for non-technical support vs 1 for technical support ] to request the global customer care team assistance.
The csr said the issue behind the "Account verification is Pending. Please try after some time" is because i/others did not use a corporate email address domain when registering and then following that condition did not provide a full physical address when prompted for it. They will submit request with physical address details to "internal account compliance screening team" and after 24hrs one's account verification is supposed to be done and ready for use.
I was told the way you get into this state is the first time you try and access a free download with an account that does not have a corporate email address domain it should have popped up a "trade compliance and download conditions" page asking for full physical address details. Speculation is that some customers, me included it seems, dismiss that popup as appears optional or overlook clicking the submit button, which leaves you in this pending state until you call in for it to be manually updated.

Subject: free download always says "Account verification is Pending. Please try after some time"
Check out the advice in the following post in the Water Cooler community:
https://community.broadcom.com/blogs/julia-klaus/2025/05/25/trouble-downloading-fusion-or-workstation-account?CommunityKey=f92efc9f-0875-4c00-ad19-f20b3185f059
and the linked support article https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article/368588/
The support article says to contact Broadcom via chat or phone. I recommend using a phone call. Choose to open a new case without having a support/site ID. At no point in time when talking to them should say that you are trying to open a support case on VMware Workstation (you can't open a technical support ticket with a basic Broadcom account). Indicate you need to talk to someone from the Global Customer Care team, are having a web site access issue, and tell them that your account has been "pending verification" for a long time.
