  • 1.  ESXI5, Adding a tape drive with a high target?

I've configured a few hosts now to use tape drives, and it hasn't been a problem so far.

However, this new server's tape drive has a target of 20:

    vmhba2:C0:T20:L0

When I go to add a SCSI device, the virtual devices only go up to 3:15? I'd need something between 20:0 - 20:15 but that option is not available to me, and google hasn't been much help, all it finds is the directions to add it and not how to deal with high target numbers.

How do I add a new virtual target address so I can map this tape drive?

Ugh, I wrote that while very tired.

It does have a target of 20, but the virtual nodes only go up to 15. So I can't choose 1:20 (or 2:20, or 3:20) as an option as a virtual device node.

Does anyone know how to correct this?
