ESXi Smart Card Integration

I am surprised I haven't found more topics on this in the community forums, but I am curious if anyone has taken on the task of directly integrating a Smart Card reader for two-factor authentication to their physical ESXi console.

I am pretty sure this isn't supported, but can't seem to find the definitive answer to confirm.

I know my reply is very far behind but I have attempted integrating smart cards using ESXi 4.1 Update 2 with sporadic success.  I'm able to get smart card and smart card readers to show up temporarily but lose mapping, etc. to each VM after a few VM reboots.  I'm also in the same boat you are trying to find more information about this issue without any success.
