Esxi 8 host server not showing up on the domain network

I am setting up a test esxi 8 host server on my test domain and I am not able to see ping or manage the esxi host. I had the sever attached to a router to setup and everything worked fine. I move it to my test domain network and can't access it at all.

Any Ideas what I am doing wrong? I have adjusted the ip and DNS settings in the exsi console to match the domain network settings but still can't see it or connect to it.

In which IP range you put the ESXi host? subnet mask is OK? 

there will be definitely something very simple. check everything once again - from ESXi perspective - such a process really straightforward.

I have a hpe dl385 gen10 plus v2 with a 10gb 2 port network adapter. My domain uses AD 2008 and runs on the 192.168.0.0, 255.255.255.0 with the gateway being the firewall 192.168.0.1. From the esxi console I can't ping the gateway. From the network I can't ping the esxi host even though they both are running  192.168.0.xxx, 255.255.255.0.

When I connect this to a router with my laptop attached to the router I can bring up the client in the browser and it pins the gateway. So something about the network seems to be blocking this. I do have a esxi 7 and esxi 6 server on this same domain and the settings are the same so I am not sure what is up. Going to get another 4 port nic and see if that is the issue.

The 10Gb 2-port SFP+ OCP3 Adapter doesn't show up in the 2008 ad domain. I added a 4 port gig nic adapter and I am able to connect from all the domain computers.

Is the switch port the host is connected to configured as an Access or Trunk port?
