    Hi All:

to save IP address and security we decided to implment a local-only vStandard switch so at least the VM connected to this vSwitch can talk to each other and for some machines only live in this isolated network

i have a vm with connection to both the regular vm network (call it 192.168.x.x network) and this local-only network (call it 172.17.17.x network) ... it is able to find it self within the 172.17.17.x network but cannot find any another vm lives within the same 172.17.17.x network ...

what did i do wrong ?

    thanks

    Hello,

Sounds like a 'routing'/'netmask' issue more than anything. I would look at the routing tables involved.
