    Hello,

    what will happen to the Guests when the ESX4 Host will be shutdown via vCLI Command. Is the powerdown for the Guests save or critical?

    You need to setup this on "Configuration > VM Power on/Shutdown" option. You can do a different policy for each vm or one for all.

    Via vCLI is like you have performed a Shutdown from the vSPhere Client, so the VMs will follow the order you configured on the above configuration.
