  • 1.  ESX DMZ Ip Addressing (Nat or Not2Nat)

    Hello Everyone,

I was wondering what peoples views were on DMZ esx servers and public ip addresses directly on the Virtual Machines vs private ip addresses and natting the public ip addresses to the internal private ips. I came from a company that the policy was internal ip addresses and then nat the public ip to the individual vms as needed. I did a search for VMwares best practices but it does not specify which method is prefered. Can anyone shed some light on this?

This wouldn't be a VMware specific decision. Use whatever your current policy is and adjust as necessary or permissable. Without a specific understanding of your infrastructure it would be very difficult to comment.
