    Hi,

We have licenses for both Essential Plus and Enterprise plus.  I have already setup the Enterprise plus cluster with it's vCenter standard(appliance).  Is it possible to use the same vCenter and add the essential plus cluster to be under it's management?

    thanks for any insights,

    Jimmy

No, unfortunately that's not possible, unless you are using the "vSphere Essentials Kit for Retail and Branch Offices".

    From http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/vsphere_pricing.pdf

vSphere Essentials and Essentials Plus Kits are self-contained solutions and may not be decoupled, or combined with other vSphere editions.

    Andre,

Thank you for the quick reply. It appears that they won't even let me upgrade the essential plus to enterprise.  We are even willing to give them money!

i guess i will be running 2 separate cluster with 2 different vCenter.  If anyone knows a better solution.. chime in.

Depending on the number of CPU licenses you need there is an option to upgrade Essentials Plus to an Acceleration Kit, see http://kb.vmware.com/kb/2060657
