  • 1.  error in cloning a VM

    Hello All,

    While cloning a VM, i am getting an error " Virtual machine is configured to use a device that prevents the operation. A general system error occured. This operation is not supported with virtual disks in independent mode or raw disk mappings in physical compatibility mode".

    are you using any virtual disks in Independend mode or are you using RDM ? then it will fail, power off the vm and try

    if its in physical compatibility mode, even if off, it will still fail.

    post up your disk configuration for further diagnosis

    you will need to power down the VM and perform the clone.
