encrypted VM removed from inventory

    Hi

    I am about to migrate some client's VMs onto new environment and one of the requirements is to encrypt them.

    I am ok with the process and encryption and how it works, but haven't found any information on what happens if VM that is encrypted is removed from inventory for any reason, and you try to reinventorize it again?

    As VM is removed from inventory, DEK is removed from original and all other ESXi hosts in HA cluster, so if you want to import into inventory, what key will be used to decrypt this VM and will it work at all?

    vmx is not encrypted and that is just fine, but will it work and how to resolve this issue if I face it in near future?
