does ESXi restore use the IP in the backup?

    hey,

     

    So i restored my esxi host using the command below as the old server raid card failed. The new server has a different IP and its not currently possible to use the old IP as that has been allocated to another machine.

    vim-cmd hostsvc/firmware/restore_config 1 config

    my question is as this new host has a different IP than the one that the backup was taken of will after restoring the backup will the new host take the old IP that was in the backed up config or will it continue to use the new IP.

     

    Also does this restore delete any thing in the datastore?

    Am i correct in assume the backup only contains the config and not the host IP, DNS etc..?
