Please bare with me for I'm not an advanced user, or if this topic was already discussed in different thread.
We've two DL380 G6 servers, each having the following specs:
- Intel Xeon QC X5550, 2.67GHz
- ROM version P62 07/24/2009
- 48GB RAM
- BBWC 512MB
- 2x quad channel NICs, VLANs have been created / redundancy through VMWare's vSwitch
- vSphere 4.0.0 - 208167
- Datastore provisioned from a NetApp filer (Fiber connection), containing 5 VM's with Win2003 R2 SP2
- Each VM has 4GB RAM and 2 vCPU's with 44GB of provisioned space on the datastore.
- Environment contains a document management suite
- VM's have been joined to the company domain
- Time server has been configured on the ESXi
- No additional ESXi options have been configured (yet!).
The issue is basically performance related. After a fresh install of Win2003 R2 SP2, the VM's are joined to the domain. The login is quite fast through RDP at first, but gradually degrades after we finish installing the application suites. The login time then is perhaps 10 times slower and would take approx 30 seconds to complete. I don't believe this can be a network problem, for we've redundancy up and running through 2 core routers. We've also not received any significant event logs which indicates a problem.
As mentioned previously, no additional configurations in ESXi 4 has been made.
Any idea's or suggestions to boost these VM's is appreciated.
Thanks!
